First, some disclaimers...
I've attempted to make this site as accessible as possible to everyone, regardless of what browser you use. If for some reason you're having trouble with any part of my site, please let me know what problem you're having, what you were trying to do when you experienced the problem, and what browser you're using. I'll do my best to try to correct the problem.
Now, the "real stuff"...
Welcome to my Celtic music site! My name is Tony Upton, and I created this site way back in 1998 as a way to share my love of Celtic music with others. This site has moved several times over the years, and it's changed a great deal since it started. Anyway, if you want to know more about me and how I came to enjoy Celtic music, please check out my personal information page.
So, now that I've gotten the introduction out of the way, let me give you some hints on what's here and how to get to it. First of all, below you will find links to the main sections of my site along with some descriptions of what you'll find there. Also, you should find a Navigation Menu on the left side of each page on the site (unless you have style sheets turned off or your browser does not support style sheets - in this case the menu will be at the bottom of the page). The Navigation Menu includes a site search function below which you can use if you're looking for something specific and don't want to wander around trying to find it.
That's enough now...have a look around and enjoy your visit! And if you have a spare moment or two, please don't forget to give me some feedback before you leave. Thanks for visiting!!
What's Here, Anyway?
Personal Information
Who am I? Where do I live? How did I become terminally addicted
to Celtic music? Those are important questions - questions which
I will answer on my "Personal Info" page.
Music in the Celtic Lands...And Beyond
If you're looking for information on instruments, types of tunes,
styles of playing, musicians and groups, and so on, this is where
you want to go.
MIDIs and Sheet Music
If you're looking for some Celtic MIDI files and/or sheet music,
this section of the site is what you're looking for. You'll find
arrangements of traditional and contemporary Celtic tunes, along
with some tunes I've composed over the years
Links
Despite my best efforts, I can't put every useful piece of information
about Celtic music on this site. Fortunately, there are a lot of great
sites out there that you can check out to find more. This page will
give you links to quite a few useful sites on the Web. Here you can also
use my "Free Links" service to add your own links to share with other
visitors.
Something Completely Different...
Although the main focus of this site is Celtic music, I do have some
other interests. With apologies to Monty Python, this section is
exactly as its title suggests...something completely different.
Feedback
This is the place to go if you want to give me feedback on my
site. Any comments, suggestions, complaints, words of praise,
etc. are welcomed and encouraged.
News and Notes
October 29, 2009
It's been quite a while since I did any updates, so I figured it was finally time to change that. Here's what I've done as part of this long-awaited update:
- I've updated the link for Gladys' Celtic Corner on the Links page.
- I've added a new MIDI set (#151) which for now lives all alone on page #7 of my MIDI sets. Hopefully it'll get some company soon, as I have 8 more sets that I've done at least some work on at this point!
- I've added some links to some video clips on YouTube that give you a chance to see and hear some of the instruments I've written about on this site.
That's all for now, but hopefully there will be more coming soon!
